“Thunder Moon” exhibit by Charles Duvall opens July 5 in Rockland

ROCKLAND — Maine artist Charles Duvall opens his new series of twelve welded steel sculptures, “Thunder Moon”, during Rockland’s First Friday Art Walk, July 5, from 5 - 8 p.m., at Steelhouse South.

Thunder Moon’s swirling curvilinear geometries each have a distinct life of their own, according to Matthew Speno, in a news release.

Fundamentally defined by curlicues, knots, and blossoms, each explores a personal vision of the artist exemplified in the title of each piece.

“Brought together in the Steelhouse South’s Rockland, Maine gallery space, these works are a meditation of the empty mind, the full moon, and of on our relationship with the surrounding untamed ocean landscape and visceral night sky,” said Speno.

Steelhouse South is located across from Duncan Donuts on Route One in Rockland.
