    POSITION SUMMARY:
    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Advancement to lead the Penobscot Bay YMCA’s fundraising and marketing efforts. This key leadership role will oversee all fundraising campaigns, major donor cultivation, grant writing, events, and sponsorships. The Director will spearhead marketing initiatives to increase visibility and support for our organization among our membership and within the larger community, working to promote and position the Y as a community leader and collaborator. The Director of Advancement serves on the CEO’s executive team and works closely with the board of directors to ignite transformation and build a brighter future for youth, families and individuals throughout Knox County.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Develop and implement a comprehensive annual advancement strategy to ensure the fiscal health, growth and expansion of the Y, including but not limited to the areas of major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, capital campaigns, annual giving, special events, public relations, marketing and communications. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and adjust plans as needed to ensure goals are achieved.
    Manage campaigns and appeals
    Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors and prospects

    Research, write, and submit grant proposals and reports to grant-making entities

    Track, monitor and analyze data related to fundraising and marketing:

    Manage and analyze customer relationship management (CRM) and social media engagement, segmenting and targeting communications to improve reach and conversions
    Establish tracking tools and metrics, and provide regular reports to staff and board.

    Represent the Y within the community and develop strong relationships with companies, local foundations, schools, civic organizations, and individuals to make the Penobscot Bay YMCA the local charity of choice for funding.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Exceptional analytical, relationship-building and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to build rapport and credibility as a community leader and to engage effectively with donors, board members, staff, and volunteers. Must also have polished written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to make presentations, write compelling press releases, case statements, grants, etc., and handle media inquiries.
    Proven leader in strategic planning and implementation. Strong project management skills, analytical skills, creativity and resourcefulness in formulation of approaches to increase Y brand awareness and appreciation.
    Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years professional fundraising experience and a demonstrated track record of success with major donors.
    Must be confident, high energy, and passionate for mission driven non-profit work with a commitment to the mission and values of the Penobscot Bay YMCA.
    Proven entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work in a highly flexible, fast-paced work environment. Must be results-oriented, organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, able to handle several tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and make decisions.

The Operations and Human Resources Coordinator at Penobscot Bay YMCA will support multiple departments with varied administrative tasks, intentionally fostering a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while assisting with essential finance, development and human resource functions within the Y.

    This position supports multiple daily operational functions and multiple departments within the organization, including Finance, Human Resources, and Development. The tasks listed below are a sampling of
    Finance:
    1. Reviews staff daily closeouts, processes Daxko daily deposits, prepares bank deposits;
    2. Processes the receipting of incoming check payments
    3. Collaborates with Finance Director to reconcile accounts and create timely Development Reports for Board meetings.
    Development:
    1. Assists with donor mailings and processing donations; receipting, preparing thank you letters, filing and tracking donations.
    2. Assists with business requests; prepare mailings, follow-up phone calls, thank you letters and tracking donations.
    3. Assists with maintaining accurate donor database with confidential information.
    4. Assists with the processing of General Assistance scholarship applications for Memberships, Programming, and Childcare and maintaining database with confidential information.
    Human Resources:
    1. Assists with all payroll functions to include payroll processing and resolution of payroll errors.

    Volunteer Coordination:
