‘Insect Bonanza’ guided walk at Ragged Mountain, July 13

CAMDEN — Coastal Mountains Land Trust and Georges River Land Trust present Insect Bonanza on Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., a guided walk along the Ragged Mountain trails beginning at the Camden Snowbowl trailhead exploring a wide array of insect habitats.

This bug-themed outing will by led by Naturalist Roger Rittmaster and members of the Maine Entomological Society during peak butterfly diversity in Midcoast Maine.

All ages are welcome, but please leave dogs at home. Contact maevec@coastalmountains.org to register or learn more.

DIRECTIONS: Meet at the Camden Snowbowl parking lot on Barnestown Road. The address for the parking lot is 20 Barnestown Rd. Camden, ME 04843.

 

Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay. The Land Trust has protected over 13,000 acres to date, offering 55+ miles of trails for public access.

 

Georges River Land Trust protects the nature that shapes the character of the Georges River watershed. Through permanent land protection, stewardship, public education and outdoor experiences, the Land Trust has created a network of conservation lands, trails and preserves protecting more than 5,100 acres with 60+ miles of public trails.
