UNITY — “The Shot Heard ‘Round Maine” movie made by kids of the I Know ME in Action program, will be screened Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Clifford Performing Arts Center, in Unity. There will be a reception at 5:30 p.m., and then theater doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Coming of Age in America (COA) is a project-based learning initiative supported by RSU#3, Thorndike, Maine and funded through an innovative instruction grant by the Maine Department of Education. Some of the key concepts built-in to COA are: a small intentional learning community, an engaging project, like making a film, strong adult-youth mentoring relationships, inter-generational mutuality, connection with community and an emphasis on hands-on, experiential learning, in our case, historic food and clothing ways.
