Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs in a positive, friendly manner, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area. Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 12pm-8:30pm; Saturdays 8:45am-5pm Salary $15-$18/hour based on FT or PT hours Job Description: 1. Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants both in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Be creative in finding ways to successfully meet member needs. 2. Greets members upon arrival and departure from Y and makes an effort to learn each member’s name. Looks to ensure that all those entering our Y are checked in properly. 3. Conducts discussions and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; encourages and closes membership sales. 4. Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the Y. 5. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. 6. Utilizes Nationwide Reciprocity to check-in members from Ys outside our organization. 7. Verifies their starting cash at the beginning of each shift. Accurately handles cash/check and electronic transactions and complete closeout at the end of each shift. 8. Utilizes Daxko to process and record payments for membership sales & renewals, program registrations and one-time fee transactions. Provides proof of receipts to those who request via email or print. 9. Receive and warm transfer calls to other staff members. Take messages and email staff as needed. 10. Check front desk email daily. 11. Assists with monthly membership mailings by stuffing, sealing and stamping envelopes. Additionally helps with monthly membership reports and filing applications as needed. 12. Helps ensure Y programs are correctly entered into Daxko before each new program registration begins. 13. Applies all Y policies associated with member services. 14. Light cleaning of front desk and lobby areas. 15. Perform other duties as necessary for the good of the association such as filling out accident reports as needed and other administrative tasks as needed. Job Requirements: 1. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills. 2. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community 3. Previous customer service, sales or related experience. 4. Knowledge of computers, email, and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel 5.
