CAMDEN — Elise Thibodeau Marshall, 64, passed away peacefully, on June 6, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, after a brief illness.

Elise was born in Lincoln, Maine, on March 12, 1960, daughter of Leslie Poole and Stuart Thibodeau, and was a 1978 graduate of Camden-Rockport High School.

All who met Elise were immediately aware of her caring, compassionate nature. A nurturing, loving mother who adored her children and cheered on their accomplishments, Elise will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion, patience, and unselfishness.

Elise created a home with a door that was always open and loved to entertain friends and family. She loved to cook, and she was good at it, often creating gourmet meals for her guests and dropping off extras at friend’s houses. She loved all dogs, but especially her golden retrievers and Newfoundlands. She loved tending her flower gardens and was always the first to see hummingbirds and Baltimore orioles in the spring.

A loving caregiver, Elise worked as a nanny to several local families over the years, and remained a part of their lives, attending sporting events, recitals, and graduations to support them.

She is survived by her mother, Leslie Poole of Rockland; her three children, whom she loved dearly: Joshua Marshall and his wife Ali of Aspen, Colorado; Aron Marshall and his partner Kara LeGage of Camden; Shelby Marshall and her partner Shane Otis of Searsmont; three grandchildren: Max and Molly Marshall of Aspen and Hayden LeGage of Camden; sister Deb Thibodeau Brown of Alna; her Aunt, Willa White, of Bangor; and special family members Wanda Lassiter, Wendy Brown, and Holly Marshall along with several nieces and nephews.

Elise was predeceased by her fiancé, Bobby Jordan; her former husband, Wesley Marshall; and her former mother-in-law, Carolyn Marshall.

A celebration of her life will be held September 15, 2024, from 1 to 5 p.m., at the Riverside Farm, Moody Mountain Road in Searsmont.
