Why Anne ‘Pinny’ Beebe-Center deserves to be reelected

Mon, 09/16/2024 - 8:45am

We are writing to urge our fellow residents of Maine Senate District 12 to re-elect our State Senator, Anne “Pinny” Beebe-Center. Senate District 12 includes Appleton, Camden, Cushing, Hope, Matinicus, North Haven, Owl's Head, Rockland, Rockport, South Thomaston, St. George, Thomaston, Union, Vinalhaven, and Warren.

Here's why Pinny deserves to be reelected:

Her Values-
Pinny's adult life has been driven by her desire to help others and to improve government programs and systems. Public service is a hard-wired value for Pinny and one she experienced first-hand from caring teachers and adults in the formative years of her life, including her father's service in the Coast Guard.

Her Experience-
Pinny has dedicated her life to serving the community. She has worked as a teacher, for the State of Maine in Education and Transportation, and as the Regional Manager for Penquis Community Action Program. Pinny also founded the Knox County Homeless Coalition and led the effort to rehab a former shelter to serve families.

In terms of public service, Pinny was a Knox County Commissioner, served three terms in the Maine House of Representatives and was elected in 2022 to her first term in the Maine Senate, where she Co-Chaired the Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety and served on the Marine Resources Committee.

Her Vision for the Future-
Pinny has made it a priority to focus on the mental health and housing crisis plaguing Maine. As our Senator, she has taken steps to ensure all Mainers have the care and housing they deserve.

Much of the success of Knox County's economy relies on our natural resources. Pinny will continue to fight to protect our coastline and support Maine's heritage industries.

As a former teacher, Pinny understands the value of education and will continue to fight for policies that guarantee that every child has access to quality education.

We hope that you will join us in re-electing Pinny Beebe-Center to the Maine Senate.
