Laura Evans to lead Green Burials presentation at Merryspring, Oct. 8

CAMDEN — Laura Evans will lead an outdoor presentation on Green Burials at Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 12 p.m., at Merryspring Nature Center.

“Natural burial is more than just a disposition option; it's a choice that can resonate with the life and values you have lived if you have cared for Mother Nature as she has cared for you throughout your lifetime,” said a news release. “Without artifice or waste, body to earth burial is a one-step, complete act that sequesters carbon, nurtures the microbial soil community, and contributes to the future of a sustainable planet for all. Burial on protected land is a gift for all eternity. Learn more about this alternative to typical contemporary Western burial methods and modern funerary customs.”

This in-person talk is the first in the Summer Talk Series co-sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank and Camden Riverhouse Hotel.

Attendance is free for members; $5 for non-members.
