    ROCKLAND — On Friday, Sept. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m., the Maine Coastal Islands Visitor Center will open its fall art show.

    The work of those involved in the Union of Maine Visual Artists centers around the theme of “refuge” and contains a variety of medias including pastels, collage, porcelain and more. Their work in this show was inspired by Maine’s coastal islands and the unique beauty that can be found there. Similarly, the photography of Anne Brown seeks to capture the essence of Maine’s coastline and those who call it home.
