BELMONT — Kenneth Charles Elmer Ashe, 52 of Belmont, passed away suddenly August 26, 2024. Ken was born in Etobicoke, Ontario on May 8, 1972, and grew in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

Ken was well loved in the community and was the retired Assistant Chief of the Montville Fire Department as well as an EMT. In Canada, he was a prior member the Canadian Army Reserves for 3 years. Ken worked at athenahealth and became the “go to” person for answers and a great resource for everybody. If you knew Ken, you liked Ken.

Ken was very active in his community and organizations he found dear to his heart. Ken was raised to Master Mason on 12/20/2012 and was the current Worshipful Master of Liberty Lodge #111, Liberty Maine and Senior Warden at Mariners Lodge #68, Searsport Maine. He became a Shriner on June 19, 2021 and was the current Secretary of the Waldo County Shrine. He was also a member of the Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association and was lovingly assigned the road name “Num Numb”. Ken never hesitated to reach out with help to neighbors and friends, even if you didn’t know you needed it, he was there. Ken had a love of hunting and fishing and loved when he and Robin fished together.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Robin, of 19 years. It was obvious the love they had for each other, they laughed, they smiled, they traveled and lived a fun and full life.

He is also survived by his parents, Kenneth and Ellen Ashe of Cape Breton, Novia Scotia; sister Tania Ashe and spouse Rob Santin; daughter Jessica Briggs and husband Creighton; daughter Svea Ashe; stepdaughter Misty Colby and husband Matthew; grandchildren Lilly, Logan, Olivia, Layla, and Arlo; mother-in-law, Nyoka Palmer; sister-in-law Kristen Collins and husband Gary and brother-in-law Ricky Palmer; many nieces and nephews; and his very special friends Greg and Melanie Berry.

He is predeceased by his sister Kimberly and brother Kenny, both in infancy; his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Hedy MacNeil; paternal grandparents, Greta and Charles Ashe; and father-in-law, Eugene Palmer.

Ken has left a void in our hearts and will be forever missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life, September 15, 2024, at 2 p.m., with a Masonic service to begin at 3 p.m., at the Waldo Town Office, 629 Waldo Station Road, Waldo, Maine 04915.
