Veterans Service Officer to discuss VA claims process in Camden, Aug. 1

    CAMDEN — American Legion Post 30 will host the American Legion Department of Maine Service Officer, who will discuss the VA claims process and answer Veterans questions concerning the VA and their claims.

    American Legion Service Officer Carl Curtis will speak at the Legion Post in Camden on Thursday, Aug. 1, beginning at 6 p.m. All Veterans and families are encouraged to attend this meeting to have their questions and concerns answered about the VA and claims. It is never too late to begin the claims process and this event will get Veterans started in the proper direction, according to Jeff Sukeforth, Post Adjutant, in a news release.

    The American Legion provides for and staffs the Service Office at the Togus VA Facility in Augusta and works with Veterans on a daily basis concerning their benefits and claims. Carl Curtis is a certified VA claims representative and will help out any Veteran who needs assistance, according to the release.

    The post doors will open at 5:30 p.m., on August 1, for coffee and pastries prior to the meeting beginning.
