Winthrop, Mount View win PITCH field hockey tournaments

WARREN — The PITCH, which opened Fall 2014, hosted two field hockey tournaments — one for middle school teams and one for high school teams — Tuesday, Dec. 30 in its indoor facility. 

At the end of the tournaments, Winthrop walked away with the middle school tournament championship crown, while Mount View walked away with the high school tournament crown. 

In the middle school tournament, Winthrop and Maine Majestix A both ended with 4-0 records, while Maine Majestix B finished with a 3-1 record, Camden 2-2, Troy Howard 1-2-1, Boothbay 0-2-2, Mount Ararat 0-3-1 and Oceanside West 0-4. 

In the high school tournament, Mount View finished a perfect 4-0, Oceanside finished 3-1, Belfast Gold and Spruce Mountain both finished 2-1-1, Maine Central Institute finished 2-2, Belfast Blue and Eagles Field Hockey Club 1-3 and Boothbay 0-4.
