TENANTS HARBOR — On Friday, August 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., the Jackson Memorial Library, in Tenants Harbor, will hold an opening reception for its August show, which features the textile art of local artist Marie-Annet Goldsmith. Goldsmith describes her work as “painting with fabric.” 

“The colors and forms of nature, as well as my African roots, are my inspiration,” she said, in a news releaser. “Living in Rockland on Lake Chickawaukie, I am constantly stimulated by the birds, the woods, the water, and the sky I see every day. I take those visions, mix them with my imagination, and use pieces of fabric to make the art come to life…”
