SURRY — On Thursday, August 29, 2024, at approximately 11:50 a.m., first responders and the Maine State Police received a 911 call reporting a medical event at a solar farm on Surry Road in Surry.

The initial investigation determined that Edwin Kendall Jones, 52, of Washington, Maine suffered a medical event while working at the site, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety, in a news release.

The deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where an autopsy will be performed to determine cause and manner of death. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration was notified. The investigation is active and ongoing.
