Opening reception for Stephen Teichman work in Tenants Harbor, Sept. 13

TENANTS HARBOR — On Friday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m., the Jackson Memorial Library, in Tenants Harbor, will host an opening reception for local artist Stephen Teichman. Teichman’s show, which will go on display at the library on Monday, Sept. 9, will feature paintings and forged jewelry.

A farrier for over fifty years, Teichman says he was inspired to become an artist by the passion of his artist mother: "We need gateways to something greater than ourselves,” he says, in a Library news release. “Art works for me. All art is in some way autobiographical. My work is, in a sense, a story about me…”

Teichmanis well known for his donkey watercolors, which are sold worldwide, according to JML.

Light refreshments will be served at the reception.
