THOMASTON — Thomaston Town Manager Kara George has officially announced the appointment of Thomaston’s next Police Chief, John Palmer.
Palmer has been with the Thomaston Police Department for a short time, and served as a deputy with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office for many years prior to that.
“We are happy to announce new Thomaston Police Chief John Palmer effective today,” said George, in a very brief email to local officials and reporters.
Palmer’s role becomes effective today, July 31, 2024.
Palmer will be officially recognized at a Select Board meeting, Monday, August 12, at 6 p.m.
“Wishing JP the best in this new role!” said George.
