Medomak, Appleton split 7th grade basketball contests

APPLETON — The seventh grade boys and girls basketball teams from Appleton and Medomak met on the hardwood Wednesday, Jan. 19 in Appleton. 

Girls: Appleton 47, Medomak 29

Appleton held quarterly advantages of 13-8, 27-13 and 36-23.

Scoring for Medomak were Paige Gerlack (10 points), Rachel Barbour (two), Grace Havener (two), Molly Emerson (five), Lilly Hills (two), Brooke McNelly (six) and Ari Kennard (two). 

Scoring for Appleton were Brenna Odane (13 points), Zoe Davis (eight) and Izzy Debrasky (26). 

Boys: Medomak 48, Appleton 42

Medomak held a slim 13-12 advantage after the opening quarter before the host Wildcats took a 27-17 lead into the halftime pause. After the third quarter, Appleton continued to lead the contest 33-31. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kollin Donlin (11 points), Landon Starr (11), Noah Taggert (eight), Clark Elwell (six), Landon Morrison (six), Brayden Nadeau (four) and Liam Feeley (two).

Scoring for Appleton were Manny Mosheyev (14 points), Carter Campbell (10), Jacob Harrington (eight), Aiden Barley (four), Gavin Campbell (three), Noah Bendtson (two) and Rick Herbert (one).
