Tom DiMenna's tribute concert "Story Songs of the 70s" comes to Camden Amphitheatre

CAMDEN — Camden Public Library continues its Summer Concert Series of outdoor music in the Amphitheatre on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 5:30 p.m., with Tom DiMenna and Eddie Holm's "Story Songs of the 70s." This concert is free and open to the public. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own seating and pack a picnic to make the most of this summer concert.

Maine based singer/songwriter Tom DiMenna and bass player Eddie Holm will resurrect some of the ‘70s greatest story songs from three of the era’s greatest singer/songwriters: Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, and Harry Chapin.

DiMenna's tribute shows have sold out opera houses up and down the Maine coast, according to Camden Opera House, in a news release.

“His impressive vocal range and guitar style artfully channel all of these revered artists and are sure to satisfy their most diehard fans,” said COH. “Tom will also be backed with accompaniment to provide plenty of toe tapping for this very special evening.”

Tom DiMenna is a singer/songwriter based in Maine. He released his debut album, You Know Me, My Devil Says, in 2020. His review of Cat Stevens gems sold out opera houses along the Maine coast in 2021, and he's now touring a wider review of story songs from the 1970s, now including Gordon Lightfoot and Harry Chapin.

Eddie Holm grew up in various countries around the world, and currently hails from Camden. His career has involved audio for feature films, as well as sound engineering at the Waldo Theater in Waldoboro. For the last 15 years, he’s been playing bass and guitar in various bands in North Carolina and New England.
