Midcoast Music Academy’s Intensive Jazz students, faculty to perform at Rockville Community Chapel, Aug. 16

    ROCKPORT — Midcoast Music Academy’s Intensive Jazz students and faculty will present a performance at the Rockville Community Chapel on Friday, August 16, at 6 p.m. Led by Armory Raymond and Chris Pert, MCMA’s Jazz Intensive is a weeklong day camp during which students delve deeply into jazz repertoire, history, practice nd playing. The show represents the culmination of their week’s work. After a student performance, a trio of MCMA faculty will treat the audience to their own selection of jazz tunes.

    Midcoast Music Academy is a community school founded in 2012.Their mission is to harness the power of making music with and for others, through equitable access to instruction, performance and community programming. MCMA’s Jazz Intensive camp is the recipient of the Eric Davis Fund, which helps ensure that any dedicated musician can attend.     Rockville Community Chapel, located on 87 Old Rockland Street in the village of Rockville (directly behind the former Green Thumb), is the only remaining public building in the village. After a 20+ year restoration, the church is completely restored to the way it was in 1853.
