ROCKLAND — Lawrence J. ‘Larry’ Marriner, Jr., 67, died peacefully, Sunday, July 28, 2024 at his home following a brief period of declining health. Born in Rockland, June 3, 1957, he was the son of Laurence, Sr. and Helen Hart Marriner. He was educated locally, attending Rockland High School.

In his early adult years, Larry moved to Brooklin, Maine where he lived most of his adult life. For many years he worked on the water as a lobster fisherman. During the summers, from 2007-2014, Larry stayed at Balsam Cove Camp Ground on Toddy Pond in Orland, Maine. He served as all around campground meet and greet, maintenance and attended to the needs of the campers. Larry was affectionately called by all as “Camp Ground Ranger.”

Always a happy, go-lucky person, he was liked by all who met him. He was easy to talk to and made friends wherever he went. His easy-going nature will be missed by all who knew him.

Predeceased by his father; Larry is survived by his mother, Helen Marriner of Owls Head; his brothers, Alan Marriner and his wife Joella of Owls Head, Keith Marriner; a sister, Tina Marriner; as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.
