ROCKLAND — Terry A. Joy, 67, died peacefully, Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the Sussman House in Rockport.

Born in Rockland, November 26, 1956 he was the son of Hubert and Donna Newhall Joy. Educated locally, Terry was a graduate of Rockland High School.

Terry spent his working career as an auto mechanic working for several dealerships including Wiscasset Ford, Don Foshay Tire, Prompto and Cooper Tire. Later he also worked at Nautica in the Rockland Industrial Park.

Terry loved anything to do with motorcycles and four-wheelers, hopping on whenever he had the chance. He also enjoyed watching ‘The Price is Right’ and ‘Gunsmoke’.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Coolbroth Joy, of Rockland; his children Daniel Joy of Rockland, Jennifer Joy and her companion Walter Smith of Rockland, Robert Demmons and his wife Melissa of Thomaston; his siblings Darren Joy and his wife Tammy of Cushing, Tammy Randall of Rockland, Darlene Joy of Owls Head; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 3 p.m., at Achorn Cemetery in Rockland.
