ROCKLAND — A Rockport man is accused of injuring a woman after he threw a metal thermos at her head.

Timothy Alfiero, 44, was arrested Aug. 8 by Rockport Police and charged with domestic violence assault and domestic violence criminal threatening. He made his initial appearance in Knox County Court Aug. 12 where his bail was set at $1,000 cash, with no third-party bail allowed. When he posts bail, he must report daily to Rockport Police.

According to the affidavit filed in court by police, the victim reported that she had an argument with Alfiero and he allegedly began throwing things at her. Police said the victim was “bleeding profusely” from a head wound when she was struck with a metal thermos. Alfiero admitted throwing the items but did not think anything hit the woman.

Police said they found several hypodermic needles and marijuana throughout the residence.

Alfiero was arrested by Rockport Police and on the way to the jail, an officer noticed that he had difficulty breathing and suspected that he may have swallowed something. The officer called for an ambulance and administered sternum rubs and Narcan until the suspect was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

Police reported that Alfiero was acting “extremely erratic” in the emergency room. Officers stayed overnight at the hospital until he was discharged the next morning and then transported to the Knox County Jail.

Alfiero is scheduled to appear in court again on Oct. 10 for a dispositional conference.
