ROCKLAND — Patricia R. ‘Pat’ Boice, 85, died peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, Tuesday, February 13, 2024 following a brief period of declining health.

Born in Rockland, August 31, 1938, she was the daughter of Dr. James P. and Mary Flanagan Kent. Educated locally, she was a graduate of Rockland High School, Class of ’56.

Following high school, Pat spent several years working alongside her sister as an operator for New England Telephone. Later she began her career as an administrative assistant to the CEO of Virginia Gentleman. Pat adored this job, making many friends, both in the front office and on the production floor. She was very outgoing and sociable, and made friends easily wherever she went.

Later in life, Pat looked forward to playing bridge with her Bridge Club whenever she was able. The social hour that accompanied this brought her great joy. Her number one priority in life was her family and friends and she tended to their needs above all else. Pat had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs, adopting many over the years. Up until recently, she loved going for daily walks with her dog.

Pat’s wonderful personality and sense of humor will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Predeceased by her siblings, James P. Kent, Jr., Mary Kent Grant, Agnes Kent Webber March, and Carol E. Kent; Pat is survived by her daughters, Sarah Boice of New York, Lela Guyer of Pennsylvania, Michelle Boice of Wisconsin; four grandchildren; a treat-grandchild; a nephew, James Kent Kalloch and his daughter Makayla Kalloch of Rockland; as well as a large extended family and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 11 a.m., at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 150 Broadway, Rockland. A reception will follow in the Grispi Center.
