CAMDEN — Join the Megunticook River Citizens Advisory Committee (MRCAC) on Monday, Oct. 30, for a conversation with Dr. Nathan Furey as part of the MRCAC’s ongoing speaker series. The presentation will focus on why migratory fish are important to the ecosystem and the impacts barriers have on them.

Furey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of New Hampshire (UNH). He heads the UNH Fish and Movement Ecology Lab, where his team researches the motivations and consequences of animal movements, particularly migratory fishes. His lab specializes in the use of telemetry to track fish movements, but also conducts investigations of predator-prey interactions, bioenergetics, and landscape ecology.
