Margaret “Peg” A. Digiovanne, obituary

LINCOLNVILLE — Margaret Anne “Peggy” DiGiovanne, nee Carney, passed away on June 8, 2024, at the age of 75, at Sussman House in Rockport. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 4, 1948, Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.

Peggy was a dedicated caregiver throughout her whole life. She was the secretary for a Vice President at General Accident Insurance Company in Philadelphia after high school until her daughter was born. Devoted to raising her children until they were older, she then returned to the workforce as a Paraprofessional in the Moorestown Public School System working with Special Education students and later as a school bus aide for the same population.

Peggy and Larry built their retirement home in Lincolnville in 1998. Peggy was active with the Lincolnville Women’s Club, Kno-Wal-Lin for sewing comfort items for patients, and she and Larry were members of Lincolnville Improvement Association. In addition to her professional and community involvement, Peggy enjoyed hobbies such as scrapbooking, card making, and sewing. Her creativity and caring nature touched the lives of many.

Peggy is survived by her children Margaret Conley (John), of Appleton, and Lawrence DiGiovanne, of Moorestown, New Jersey; her grandchildren Jason DiGiovanne, of Lincolnville, and Ava and Roman DiGiovanne, Moorestown, New Jersey. She is also survived by her sisters Patricia Wilkinson (Stephen), Eileen Laurick (Edward), Kathleen Gosciniak (Leon); and sister in law Susan DiGiovanne, along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and close family friends, especially Sharon Pullen.

She was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Lawrence DiGiovanne; her grandson Zachary Fowler; her parents, Margaret and John Carney; her in laws Mildred and Gilormo DiGiovanne; her sister Maureen Christine and her husband David; and brothers James DiGiovanne, and Alan DiGiovanne.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Sussman House in memory of Peggy.

Peggy’s kindness, dedication, and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 1 - 3 p.m., at Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain Street, Camden.
