Knox County Grand Jury indictments: kidnapping, assaults, drug trafficking, forgery

    ROCKLAND — The Knox County grand jury indicted 38 defendants, for a total of 110 counts, during its recent session Feb. 8-10.  An indictment does not constitute a conviction, and those indicted are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

    Hannah Ames, 22, of Vinalhaven, aggravated assault and assault on North Haven April 8, 2021.

    Geoffrey E. Barrett, 35, of North Haven, aggravated assault, assault, two counts, and criminal mischief on North Haven April 8, 2021.

    Michael P. Beal, 49, of Portland, aggravated criminal mischief, theft by unauthorized taking in Friendship December 15, 2018,  with the fishing vessel Rotten Hog.

    Hannah Carter, 22, of Friendship, assault on an officer, two counts, criminal operating under the influence (OUI), refusing to submit to arrest, and criminal mischief in Rockport July 16, 2021.

    Devin Joseph Chambers, 26, Maine State Prison, assault on an officer in Warren January 28, 2021.

    Kaysie J. Corey, 27, of Vinalhaven, aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs (heroin, fentanyl), unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, and unlawful furnishing of drugs in Knox County August 8, 2021.

    Aleisa Demichael, 46, of Waldoboro, terrorizing, two counts, in Rockland February 24, 2021.

    Joseph M. Eaton, 33, Maine State Prison, assault in Warren August 4, 2021.

    Richard J. Ellis, 34, of Camden, kidnapping, gross sexual assault, aggravated assault, criminal threatening, obstructing report of a crime, and violation of a condition of release in Camden September 15, 2021. Ellis has remained at the Knox County Jail since he was arrested on the same day.

    According to the affidavit filed in Knox County Court by Camden Detective Sgt. Curt Andrick, police were notified that a woman was lying in the road around 7 a.m. Sept. 15. When police arrived at the scene, they did not locate the female who had since come to the lobby at the Camden Police Station for help.

    Police reported that the victim had multiple bruises, two black eyes, scratches, several other abrasions on her face and a possible broken nose. NorthEast Mobile Health responded, treated and transported the victim to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

    The woman told police that the suspect had threatened to kill her while she was held against her will for over a week at a Park Street residence in Camden.

    During that time, Ellis allegedly took her cell phone, car keys and glasses and assaulted her numerous times.

    At the Park Street residence, several officers of the Camden and Rockport Police Departments assisted in securing the residence in anticipation of the search and arrest warrant, according to Andrick.

    Andrick obtained a warrant Sept. 15 to arrest Ellis who was then transported to the Knox County Jail.

    Richard Gioia, 51, of Franklin, aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs (fentanyl), violation of a condition of release, and illegal importation of drugs in Knox County on September 27, 2021.

    Kathy L. Grierson, 33, of Union, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer in Appleton November 16, 2020.

    Shawn M. Hall, 43, of South Thomaston, two counts of unlawful possession of drugs, two counts, in South Thomaston October 5, 2021.

    Cody Hamilton, 23, of Vinalhaven, aggravated assault, violation of a condition of release, and assault on North Haven April 8, 2021. 

    Philip C. Hopkins, 32, of Vinalhaven, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon (motor vehicle) and driving to endanger on Vinalhaven September 8, 2021.

    Kevin Hornby, 22, of North Haven, aggravated assault and assault, two counts, on North Haven April 8, 2021.

    Jacob Ingraham, 25, of Belfast, aggravated trafficking in drugs (fentanyl) in Knox County August 19, 2020. According to the indictment, the alleged drug trafficking contributed as a factor of Timothy Ochtera.

    Eben J. Kenney, 35, of Rockland, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, conspiracy to commit robbery, and violation of a condition of release in Rockland September 17, 2021.

    Jason A. Littlefield, 38, of Appleton, domestic violence terrorizing with a dangerous weapon (firearm), possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and violation of a condition of release in Appleton July 21, 2021.

    Dawn Lucier, 47, of Rockland, hindering apprehension or prosecution in Rockland September 1, 2021.

    Thomas N. Lucier, 41, of Rockland, dissemination of sexually explicit materials with minors, possession of sexually explicit materials, and unlawful possession of scheduled drugs in Rockland January 23, 2021.

    Devin G. Meklin, 26, of Warren, violation of a protective order, two counts, domestic violence assault, and domestic violence terrorizing, in Cushing Nov. 17, 2021.

    Drew Paulsen, 22, of Rockland, violation of a condition of release and violation of a protective order in Rockland Dec. 29, 2021.

    Gary S. Peters, 51, of Cushing, aggravated criminal operating under the influence (OUI) in Thomaston July 24, 2021.

    Austin C. Podziewski, 35, of Portland, aggravated assault, aggravated operating after habitual offender revocation, and criminal operating under the influence (alcohol) on Vinalhaven November 1, 2021.

    Brandon J. Raye, 37, of Cushing, trafficking in drugs (cocaine, heroin, fentanyl), possession of drugs, two counts, and violation of condition of release in Knox County December 10, 2021; criminal forfeiture of $1,400.

    Elisa N. Robbins, 35, of Waldoboro, aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs (cocaine) and violation of a condition of release in Knox County December 14, 2021; criminal forfeiture of $1,185.

    Nicholas Tyler Sparrow, 31, of Scarborough, failure to appear and violation of condition of release in Rockland April 29, 2021.

    Chris Patrick Stevens, 48, Maine State Prison, forgery, misuse of identification, and impersonating a public servant in Warren October 13, 2020.

    Katelyn Thomas, 20, of Rockland, unlawful possession of drugs, four counts, (methamphetamine, naloxone, heroin, oxycodone), driving to endanger, criminal operating under the influence (OUI) in Rockland June 25, 2021.

    Clifton R. Wallace, 44, of Cushing, theft by unauthorized taking, five counts, burglary of a motor vehicle, operating after revocation, forgery, receiving stolen property, and improper plates in Rockland, Thomaston and Owls Head. The offenses are alleged to have occurred in March 2021 in Rockland, Thomaston, and Owls Head March 1, 2021.
