NOBLEBORO — Dale A. Grubbs, Sr., age 71, of Nobleboro and long-time resident of Lincoln County, died on April 13, 2022, at his home after a brief illness. Born on November 5, 1950, in Portland, Maine, Dale was a son of William and Mildred Randall Grubbs.

Spending early years of his life in Connecticut, at the age of 7, Dale’s family moved to Owl’s Head where he attended local schools. After school, Dale went on to enlist in the military. Proud of his country, he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War Era. After being discharged, Dale returned home to start his family.

Never an idle man, Dale was known as a “jack-of-all trades” working for local companies as a truck driver, plumber, general contractor, lobsterman, and most recently working for M.S.A.D 40. Ultimately doing anything needed to provide for his family. When not involved with work, Dale was found spending his spare time with local organizations.

He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. 2499, and United Bikers of Maine, a former member of Knox County Fish & Game and of B.P.O.E. Lodge 1008 Rockland.

He loved going to the Wiscasset Speedway, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also was a collector of guns and coins. Above all, Dale had faith. Dale was a member of the Baptist Church in Jefferson.

Dale is survived by his siblings, Darrald Atwood and his wife Theresa of Spruce Head, Dawn-Marie O’Reilly and her husband, Michael of Connecticut; his two sons, Dale Jr., and his wife Theresa of Thomaston, Jason Stewart and his wife Karen of Waldoboro; and a daughter, Katherine of Waldoboro.
