    CAMDEN — Camden Opera House has released its calendar lineup for February 2022 and beyond:

     

    Friday, Feb. 4  – SoundCheck: Take 4, at 7:30 p.m. 

    Local string quartet plays music from around the world, including traditional Scottish and Irish tunes, Argentinian tango, Spanish lullabies, Viennese waltzes and beloved arias. Choose-your-own socially distanced reserved seats ($10, advance purchase encouraged via www.camdenoperahouse.com) at Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St. plus free Facebook Livestream. Masks required in the building. Sponsored by Blue Harbor House Inn. 

     

    Thursday, Feb. 10 – Pete Kilpatrick Band, at 7:30 p.m. 

    Pete Kilpatrick Band, with special guest Dan Blakeslee, performs Toboggan Nationals week Winterfest show at the Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St. Choose-your-own spaced reserved seats are $22 in advance/$25 day-of-show at www.camdenoperahouse.com. Masks required in the building. Sponsored by 40 Paper. 

     

    Sunday, Feb. 13 – The Literary Salon: Love, Belfast, at 2 p.m. 

    Belfast Poet Laureate Judy Kaber joins city compatriots Elizabeth Garber, Ellen Sander and Karin Spitfire in a Valentine’s Day weekend reading at Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St. Choose-your-own socially distanced reserved seats (FREE, but tickets required) via www.camdenoperahouse.com. Also free Facebook Livestream. Masks required in the building. Sponsored by the Community Arts Fund (donations encouraged). 

     

    Friday, Feb. 18 – SoundCheck: Red Tail Hawk, at 7:30 p.m. 

    Combo from Boston’s North Shore fuses jazz, groove rock, funk and roots. Choose-your-own socially distanced reserved seats ($10, advance purchase encouraged via www.camdenoperahouse.com) at Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St. plus free Facebook Livestream. Masks required in the building. Sponsored by Camden Maine Stay Inn. 

     

    Sunday, Feb. 27 – “King of Ragtime” at 2 p.m. 

    Author/illustrator/pianist Stephen Costanza and friends offer multimedia presentation of his new youth reader biography of Scott Joplin. Choose-your-own socially distanced reserved seats are $10, $5 age 15 and younger, via www.camdenoperahouse.com. Masks required in the building. 

     

    ALSO tickets will go on sale for Jazz in June: The Brubeck Brothers Quartet plus Martin Taylor and Frank Vignola (June 17).

     

    In March, we have the rescheduled Castlebay SoundCheck on March 4; Chris Ross (SoundCheck) March 11; and two full concerts, Scotland's Tannahill Weavers March 18; and Roan Yellowthorn with Gentle Temper (benefit for Finding Our Voices) March 25. FMI, just ask!
