ROCKLAND – A Rockland man is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile over several years beginning when the victim was 12 years old.

Kyle Gott, 44, was arrested July 31 by Rockland Police after he voluntarily came to the police station. Police initially charged him with one count of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.

The District Attorney’s Office elevated the charges against Gott to seven counts of gross sexual assault and seven counts of unlawful sexual contact. The offenses allegedly occurred from January 2018 through June 2024, according to the court document.

According to the affidavit filed in court by Rockland Police, Gott admitted to police that he sexually assaulted the juvenile for years.

Gott made his initial appearance in Knox County Court Aug. 2 before Judge Sarah Gilbert who set bail at $50,000 cash. If he posts bail, then he will be on supervised release and cannot have any contact with the victim or her family and anyone under 18 years old.

He was also served with a PFA (protection from abuse) order at the Knox County Jail. The order also prohibits him from possessing any firearms.

Gott is scheduled to appear in court again on Oct. 10 for a dispositional conference
