LINCOLNVILLE — A Friendship man has been arrested following report of a suspicious looking man trespassing on Masalin Road in Lincolnville, according to a press release from Waldo County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Cody Laite.

The report came in at approximately 8:20 a.m., and deputies were able to identify the trespasser as William Dean, 47.

Members of the WSO responded to the scene, discovering that Dean had entered a garage on the property in question, and was still upstairs on the second story, the release said. After confirming Dean has no rights to the property efforts were made to call Dean out of the garage, though he refused to cooperate, the Sheriff’s Office said.

WSO Corporal Travis Spencer traveled to the scene with his K9 Dex to assist in Dean’s removal.

Dean continued to refuse to cooperate or listen to law enforcement’s orders to exit the building. Ultimately, Dean was apprehended with the help of K9 Dex, and the assistance of deputies on scene, the release said.

Dean was arrested for burglary, violation of a condition of release, and refusing to submit to arrest or detention.
