Chip Curry stands up, speaks and votes for the people of Waldo County. He knows us. He sees us. Chip has been a tireless advocate for the health and vitality of Waldo County institutions and services. Chip continues to fight for the Hutchinson Center to remain an educational center used by and for the citizens of Waldo County. Chip works to have Waldo County General Hospital be a full-service facility. Chip recognizes the community support that helped build, finance, maintain, expand and beautify these vital county institutions.

Chip cares about, listens to, and sponsors legislation for the full range of citizens in Waldo County. Chip successfully sponsored legislation for the expansion of EMS services in Waldo County communities, to strengthen Maine’s Child Protection Services, to phase out the use of PFAS chemicals in agriculture and support affected farmers. Chip champions state support for local services that address the critical needs of senior citizens throughout Waldo County.

Chip’s passion for Waldo County was clear in his entire speech on the Senate floor April 1, 2024 when he stated, “When you lose the general store, nursing home, clinic, elementary school, or ambulance service, there is not another one 10 miles down the road. When we lose these institutions, the quality of our lives is lessened.”
