Early in the morning of July 3, 2024, around 2 a.m., Rockland Police responded to Rockland’s South End for a report of three juveniles, dressed in black, wearing masks, checking vehicle doors.

Officers responded and after patrolling the area on foot, located the three juvenile suspects. The suspects took off running and officers were able to catch one juvenile, and a short time later located a second juvenile suspect nearby.

The juveniles were wearing black, had masks, gloves and one was found in possession of a knife. Officers found multiple unlocked vehicles that had been gone through along with a damaged mailbox.

According to Rockland PD, officers further found a nearby residence where a first floor screen of an open window had been cut open and at least partial entry made inside, with items removed and left on the lawn. Officers notified the homeowners who were inside asleep at the time.

Two juveniles have been charged in connection with this incident. The charges include Burglary, Motor Vehicle Burglary, Refusing to Submit to Arrest/Detention and Criminal Mischief. A third juvenile suspect has been identified and the investigation is still active.
