Pen Bay, Waldo welcomes new OR Clinical Educator

ROCKPORT and BELFAST — Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital welcome Hope Griffith, RN, as their new Operating Room clinical educator. In this role she will oversee all areas of education and training for OR care team members, including orientation and ongoing education to keep the teams up to date on best practices.

Griffith comes to Pen Bay and Waldo with more than 15 years of experience as a certified operating room nurse. Most recently she was the OR assistant nurse manager in the level I trauma center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Inc., in Atlanta, Georgia.

“From the moment I spoke with Hope, I knew she would be a great fit for our teams,” said Tara Boynton, RN, director of Perioperative Services at Pen Bay, in a news release. “Hope has a passion for education and recognizes the value of having a clinical educator in the perioperative setting. She brings so much experience, clinical knowledge and passion to this role. We are very excited to have her join us.”

Griffith earned her associate degree in nursing from Georgia Perimeter College in Decatur, Georgia and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois.
