Midcoast Conservancy to hold “State of the Medomak” event

WALDOBORO — Anyone interested in learning more about the Medomak River watershed and what Midcoast Conservancy is doing to care for it is invited to join Midcoast Conservancy’s Medomak Regional Stewardship Manager, Morganne Price, and other staff for the inaugural “State of the Medomak” event Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 5 - 7 p.m., at the Waldo Theatre, in Waldoboro.

Topics to be addressed include: what a watershed is, the natural history of the Medomak, the current threats to the Medomak, and what Midcoast Conservancy is doing to address those threats.

In addition, attendees will learn how anyone can get involved through Midcoast Conservancy’s trail crew and water quality testing volunteer programs, and how everyone can do their part to protect this special watershed.

The gathering will begin with a happy hour at 5 p.m.; light refreshments will be provided. The 45-minute presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by mingling and an opportunity to connect with partnering organizations who will be tabling at the event.

The event is free and open to the public; registration is requested by going to https://www.midcoastconservancy.org/events-list/state-of-the-medomak.
