The Maine Lobster Festival donated a total of $1,250 to AIO Food & Energy Assistance and Pope Memorial Humane Society at its recent Board of Directors meeting.

AIO received a $250 donation that will be used to provide high-quality, healthy food to food-insecure families in Knox County. AIO's food assistance programs include the Food Pantry and Weekend Meal Program, which provide food to children and families. The Energy Assistance program provides families in Knox County with heating assistance during the winter.

Pope Memorial Humane Society received a $1,000 donation, which will go toward a matching grant for the Sherman Medical Fund. All donations to this fund are put directly toward vet care and medical supplies for dire cases. The donation was accepted by PMHS Development Director Chrys DeLorimier.
