Herring Gut Coastal Science Center appoints Joline Godfrey to Board of Directors

PORT CLYDE — A new member has joined the Board of Directors for the Herring Gut Coastal Science Center.

Joline Godfrey has been an innovator in financial education and well-being for families for over three decades. Her invention of a developmental approach to financial education for family members was a breakthrough in financial education which has earned her numerous speaking and consulting opportunities. She is a private consultant to families and family offices around the world and the Founder/Chief Content Officer for Bounce10, a financial readiness program for families with children running in age from 4-10 who are growing up in abundance.

A Maine native, Godfrey graduated from the University of Maine and earned an M.S.W. from Boston University. She was awarded an Honorary Degree in Business from Bentley College for her achievements in financial education. Godfrey was a Kellogg Leadership Fellow and has been recognized in features for The Today Show, Oprah, Fortune, Business Week, Inc. Magazine, and The New York Times. She is the subject of a Harvard Business School Case Study.

“We are very pleased that Joline is willing to join our active and engaged board,” said Dr. Sarah Oktay, executive director of Herring Gut, in a news release. “Her perspective and life experience will allow us to strategically plan for the future and address current challenges.”

Godfrey lives in Tenants Harbor and Ojai, California.

 

The mission of the Herring Gut Coastal Science Center is educating students and communities about the connections between the ocean, inland waters, and economy of Maine.
