ROCKLAND — Robert J. Lindsey, 69, also known as Bobby, of Rockland, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of May 9, 2024.

He was born on September 16, 1954 to Lillian and Robert Lindsey Sr.

Bobby attended Rockland District High School in 1972, and although he did not graduate, he always had amazing skills in carpentry work.

Bobby grew up with an adversity-filled past, but the love he had for his children was very often shown. Bobby had a love for fishing and hunting that he often taught his children, and he was always eager to bring them along for a trip to the lake or ocean for a good day of fishing. Bobby also had a love for his guitar, which he would play and sing at family cookouts with Rico Baudanza, Bob Bishop, Tom Tommy; most of the songs they sang were some good old Hank Williams songs. The family is much blessed to have these videos.

Often times if you showed up at his sister Darlene's you would find Bobby playing spades with family and friends, a games he was always up for. Bobby also loved to go camping with his recent companion Crystal Allen and her family. Bobby was known to always have his yeti cup with coffee everywhere he went.

In 1972, Bobby met his first wife, Jackie Kinney, and they had two daughters, Holly and Heidi. After being divorced from Jackie, it was then he met his second wife, Claudette, and they had two children together, a daughter, Jessica, and a son who was named after him, Robert. After divorcing Claudette, he eventually met a longtime companion, Kathy, with whom he had his last son, Jim Bob, and a stepdaughter, Rachel. Bobby always had a love for children.

Bobby was a one-of-a-kind man, never left a word unspoken, who loved helping his sister Darlene get ready for her annual Proctor summer lobster cookout every summer.

Darlene went on to start caring for Bobby when his health started to declines from kidney disease. She never left his side and the truly had a special bond.

Bobby is predeceased by his parents; his sister Loriann Drysdale and her daughter Destiny Drysdale; his first wife, Jackie Kinney; his two brothers-in-law, Otto Proctor and Jim Bumgarner.

Bobby is survived by his children, Holly Bryant of Lebanon, New Hampshire, Heidi White of Waldoboro, Jessica McEwen originally from Maine, Robert Lindsey of Maine, his last born son Jim Bob Lindsey of Owls, Maine, and his stepdaugther Rachel of Thomaston; his sister Darlene Proctor of Rockland, sister Becky Lindsey-Bumgarner of Yakima Washington, sister Louise Lindsey of Rockland; sister Wanda Lindsey of Northport; brother-in-law John Drysdale of Rockland; his most recent companion, Crystal Allen; many nieces and nephews, as well as grandchildren and a few great grandchildren; and his two very special buddies, Jude and Lucas. Bobby left a lasting impression on young kids.

There will not be any service at this time; however a celebration of life will be held in July.
