Midnight Breakfast caps Camden Summer Sounds 2024

CAMDEN — Portland-based indie-soul sextet Midnight Breakfast will perform this year’s final Camden Summer Sounds concert, Sunday, Aug. 25, at 4 p.m., at the Camden Snow Bowl, 20 Barnestown Road. Thanks to Camden Opera House’s Community Arts Fund, admission is free.

Midnight Breakfast, whose members include Camden native Myles Kelley, began as spontaneous late-night gatherings among college friends in Orono. The group has become a dynamic musical ensemble featuring Jennifer Shevlin-Fernandes on vocals, Reggie Kollman on drums, Benjamin Flanagan on bass, Loren Pinkham on saxophone, Evan Dickson on guitar, and Kelley on keyboards.

Over the past four years, Midnight Breakfast has traveled across the East Coast and provided support for notable artists such as Sammy Rae & The Friends, Upstate, The Ghost of Paul Revere, and Bermuda Search Party.

“With their unique blend of groovy melodies, kaleidoscopic improvisation, and blissfully jazz-kissed vocals, Midnight Breakfast delves into themes of love, self-discovery, and the quest for clarity amidst uncertainty,” said Camden Summer Sounds, in a news release.

Attendees are invited to bring lawn seating and picnics; water will be available for sale, to benefit series sponsor the Community Arts Fund. All dogs must be on leash.

In the event of wet weather, the concert will be held at the downtown Camden Opera House. Any rain location decisions will be made 5 p.m. the day before and posted on camdenoperahouse.com and in social media.

Camden Summer Sounds has presented free outdoor concerts in August since 2020.
