ROCKLAND — A group of 4th - 8th graders gets together each month for snacks and book chats about their favorite books with Miss Katie at the Rockland Public Library.

This club will be centered around the Maine Student Book Award (MSBA) list. Kids will get a chance to read any book they would like off the list each month and share it with the group. Every April, Maine names its kids' choice award winner. The book club’s recent winner is Alone by Megan E. Freeman. Find the MSBA list here: https://sites.google.com/view/mainestudentbookaward/home

If rising 4th graders are looking for recommendations off of the new list, here are two books that Miss Katie recommends: https://youtu.be/3qAT5fxCh7Q

“New members are always welcome, and feel free to bring friends and cousins to join us,” said RPL, in a news release.

To RSVP, emailed Miss Katie at kdrago@rocklandmaine.gov or visit the RPL Facebook event page: https://fb.me/e/3cX61uLFy

The club meets on RSU 13 early release days. Upcoming meetings this school year will be from 1 - 2 p.m.
