South Thomaston responders called out after midnight for single vehicle crash on St. George Road

SOUTH THOMASTON — South Thomaston emergency crews were up during the night, Wednesday, Aug. 21, after a vehicle traveling eastbound on Route 131 crossed over the center line west of 181 St. George Rd, and went into the bushes on the opposite side of the road. Firefighters and EMS were first alerted to the crash just minutes prior to 1 a.m.
The single occupant of the Kia Soul was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center by South Thomaston Ambulance.
Deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and continue to investigate.
Travel on Route 131 was down to one lane for approximately 1.5 hours.
Automaster hauled away the vehicle.
