free community performance at Steel House amphitheatre

Halcyon's live music with synchronized film, historical context to celebrate Rockland, Aug. 30

ROCKLAND — Join Halcyon musicians Josie and Sophie Davis, Luke Fatora, and Colin Wheatley for a free community performance of Lime City on Friday, August 30, at 7 p.m.

Written and filmed by Luke Fatora, Lime City combines Halcyon's live music with synchronized film and historical context to celebrate the city of Rockland and reflect on how its maritime histories and many industries have shaped its identity.

Performed at the water's edge with the Rockland Harbor as a backdrop, this performance will take place outside at the Steel House amphitheater in downtown Rockland and will be followed by a reception. In the event of rain, the event will be held inside the Steel House.

In addition to featuring folk tunes and music by Erik Satie, Philip Glass, and Florence Price, the performance premieres a new work by Rockland City Councilor, Nathan Davis.

This performance is sponsored by the Rockland Historical Society, Thomaston Historical Society, the Sail Power & Steam Museum, and Journey’s End Marina.

All are welcome - admission is free with donations appreciated.
