ROCKPORT — Jury Patrick Holmes, 70, passed way unexpectedly May 11, 2024 at PBMC (Pen Bay Medical Center) due to complications of pneumonia.

Born in Lancaster, New Hampshire, he was the youngest son of Jeanette Belmore Holmes and Donald Freeman Holmes.

Jury spent his best and early childhood years growing up in St. George. After moving to Portland as a teen, the family moved to Dalton, New Hampshire. During this time Jury suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of an automobile accident. He spent many months in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities, and lived with his parents in Dalton until their passing. Due to his many disabilities, he became a resident of a nursing home in Lancaster, New Hampshire until transferring to the Knox Center in Rockland to be near family; at the time of his passing he was a resident of Breakwater Commons.

Jury was predeceased by his parents and his brother Tim Holmes.

He is survived by his brother Perry, (Carol); two nieces, Kim Scott of Tenants Harbor with whom he shared a special bond, and Kristen Holmes-Yattaw of Warren; and nephew, Mark Holme and family of Cumberland Foreside; sister-in-law, Gabrielle Holmes of Tenants Harbor; and great and great great nieces and nephews.

Jury will be buried at the family plot in Dalton, New Hampshire along with his parents at a later date, according to his wishes.

We think he would like to be remembered for his love of family, love of music and for his sense of humor. Oh, and his favorite expression when words failed him… “stay tuned.”
