College students from Knox and Waldo counties are finding success in schools close to home and across the country. In this edition, we highlight the following:

 

Tufts University Announces Spring 2023 Dean's List

MEDFORD, MA (07/24/2023) — Tufts University recently announced the dean's list for the spring 2023 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

The following earned Dean's List honors:

Shem Scott of Vinalhaven (04863)

Local Students to Participate in Summer Research Fellowship at St. Lawrence University

CANTON, NY (07/27/2023)-- Several students have been granted St. Lawrence University fellowships to perform research on campus this summer.

Eliza Brown of Camden is collaborating with Assistant Professor Math, Computer Science, and Statistics Department Gabriel Dorfsman-Hopkins on a project titled, "Algebraic Starscapes Using Complex Eigenvalues of Bohemian Matrices." Brown is a member of the Class of 2025 and is majoring in mathematics. Brown attended Camden Hills Regional High School.

Kasey Wood of Lincolnville is collaborating with Asssistant Professor Math, Computer Science, and Statisstics Department Matt Higham on a project titled, "Visualizing and Modeling Course Registration Data." Wood is a member of the Class of 2024 and is majoring in data science. Wood attended Camden Hills Regional High School.

St. Lawrence University Students Named to Dean's List

CANTON, NY (08/01/2023) — St. Lawrence University congratulates more than 670 students named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2023 semester.

Audrey Bowman of Camden has been named to St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for achieving academic excellence during the Spring 2023 semester. Bowman is a member of the Class of 2024 and is majoring in geology.

Kaitlin Heintzman of Hope has been named to St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for achieving academic excellence during the Spring 2023 semester. Heintzman is a member of the Class of 2025 and is majoring in conservation biology. Heintzman attended Camden Hills Regional High School.

Freya Johanson of Camden has been named to St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for achieving academic excellence during the Spring 2023 semester. Johanson is a member of the Class of 2025 and is majoring in government. Johanson attended Camden Hills Regional High School.

Jesi Mann of Camden has been named to St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for achieving academic excellence during the Spring 2023 semester. Mann is a member of the Class of 2023 and is majoring in art and art history. Mann attended Camden Hills Regional High School.

Andrew Orne of Camden has been named to St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for achieving academic excellence during the Spring 2023 semester. Orne is a member of the Class of 2025 and is majoring in art and art history. Orne attended Camden Hills Regional High School.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.


Simeone named to Dean's List at Lawrence University

APPLETON, WI (08/03/2023) — Congratulations to Jamie Simeone of Burnham, ME, for making the 2022-23 Dean's List at Lawrence University.

The Dean's List is an annual honor roll of students demonstrating exemplary academic performance. The list is compiled at the end of the academic year once all grades have been recorded.
