SEARSMONT — On Dec. 29, Glenn Reed, 67, of Searsmont, was arrested by Deputy Merl Reed on the charge of Gross Sexual Assault Class A. The arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation into the allegation that in 2011 Reed engaged in a sexual act with a female who was 11 at the time of the offense, according to a Waldo County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Reed was transported to the Waldo County Correctional Center where he is being held with no bail allowed until he is seen by a judge at arraignment.
