Medomak 8th softball swings past Searsport

WALDOBORO — The Medomak eighth grade softball team dominated Searsport in a home contest Thursday, May 27 in Waldoboro. 

The host Riverhawks were able to secure a 29-2 victory over the visitors. 

Powering the Medomak offense were Kytana Williamson (two singles, two walks), Audrey Jackson (single, three walks), Bailey Lash (single, hit by pitch, walk, two RBI), Skylar Hills (three singles, two walks), Abby Young (two walks), Lillian Harvey (three walks), Lilly Christ (two walks, hit by pitch), Emma Haney (two walks), Michaela Lewis (single, walk), Maddy Wilshire (walk), Erica Waite (single, two walks) and Jaiden Seavey (two walks). 

Pitching for Medomak were Williamson (10 strikeouts, walk) and Jackson (strikeout, five walks). Neither Medomak pitcher surrendered a hit. 

A pair of Searsport pitchers combined for seven strikeouts, eight hits, two hit-by-pitches and 23 hits. 

The first inning saw the Riverhawks jump out to a 7-0 lead before Medomak extended the lead to 10-0 in the second. 

Medomak extended its lead to 29-0 thanks to a 19-run third inning that was filled with 12 walks and a bevy of singles and a double. 

Searsport was able to tally a pair of runs in the fifth inning as Jackson walked the first four batters she faced.
