LETTER To the editor

Let’s send Ray Thombs to Augusta

Fri, 08/23/2024 - 2:00pm

Please vote in November. It is vital that we send Representatives to August that listen to us, the people, and make decisions and pass bills that represent our values.

My friend and I became aware of a few bills that were going to be voted on this past year. We were excited to call, email and speak to the men and women we voted into office about the bills and share our concerns.

We heard nothing back. We decided to head to Augusta when they were in session. We were able to observe the chambers. We were Americans and we were witnessing the bill writing and voting processes.

During a break, we saw one of our district public officials, that we had left messages for and had emailed, (but never heard back from), coming down the corridor.  We stepped out and called her name, she looked over at us, lifted a hand and waved us off and continued walking.

Our spirits sank. We were not heard. That was unacceptable.

Ray Thombs is running for State Representative in District 44.  He has served his community since 1987 in many different roles. As your advocate, he will listen and serve. Over the years, Ray has been a firsthand witness to the joys and struggles of Maine people and made it his mission to help.

Let’s send Ray Thombs to Augusta!
