Knox County Sheriff’s Office welcomes new deputy

    ROCKLAND – Nathanael (Nate) Tilton has been hired as a new deputy in the patrol division with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Tilton just finished his field training and began his patrol duties June 9, according to Sheriff Tim Carroll in a news release on the department’s Facebook page.

    Tilton graduated from the Maine Central Institute in 2016. He then attended Unity College where he received a bachelor’s degree in Conservation Law Enforcement with a minor in Psychology.

    He was previously hired by the Rockland Police Department in 2019 and graduated with the 38th class of Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLETP) at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy the following year.
