LINCOLNVILLE — Douglas “Doug” A. Warren, 89, of Marlton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees, New Jersey. Born on November 5, 1934, in Camden, Maine, Doug’s life was marked by his adventurous spirit, thoughtful nature, and vivacious energy that positively impacted all who knew him.

Raised in Lincolnville, Maine, Doug proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy, a period of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor. Doug was a steadfast member of his church, taking on leadership roles as an elder and a deacon, and sharing his faith and wisdom as a Sunday School teacher.

Doug’s commitment to his community was evident through his active participation in the Arrowhead Neighborhood Association, where he worked alongside his neighbors to foster a vibrant and supportive community.

His love for his hometown never waned, as he spent every summer in Maine, dedicating his time to the National Historical Society of Lincolnville. His passion for the environment shone through his involvement with the Megunticook Watershed Association, where he played a crucial role in efforts to protect, preserve, and restore the local lake. Alongside his daughter, Linda, Doug also served as a trail warden for the Nature Conservancy, ensuring the beauty and accessibility of Maine’s natural trails for future generations.

An outdoor enthusiast, Doug found joy in the simple pleasure of walking the trails, where he could often be found reflecting on the beauty of nature and the importance of conservation. His adventurous spirit was matched by his love for bowling, a hobby that brought him much joy.

Doug was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lois “Shirley” Warren, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted son, Gil Warren and his wife Becky; his loving daughter, Linda Warren; and his adored grandson, Kyle Warren and his wife Gemma.

Doug’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and spirited dedication to his family and community will live on through them.

A Memorial Service will be held July 13, 2024, at 1 p.m., at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 164 Cobb Road, Camden.
