Camden-Rockport Little League playoffs underway

The double elimination league playoffs for Camden-Rockport Little League kicked off Saturday, June 1 for baseball and will conclude with a championship game played on Wednesday, June 12 barring any weather complications.

The Camden-Rockport Little League has six teams with the addition of Hope General and Lynx of Lincolnville as well as the Appleton players being filtered into other teams.

Here are the final standings.
West Division, 1, McCormick's (9-3); 2, Rotary (8-4); and Lynx (5-7). The East Division is 1, Knoxers (11-1), Hope (3-9); and Lions (0-12).

All six teams will be in action today with two of the games being elimination games for the loser.
Game No. 5 - At Hope - 5:30 p.m. - McCormick's hosting Lions (loser eliminated)
Game No. 6 - At Lincolnville 5:30 p.m. - Lynx hosting Hope General (loser eliminated)
Game No. 7 - At Rockport 5:30 p.m. - Knoxers hosting Rotary

Game No. 8 - At Rockport - Saturday, June 8 10 a.m.
Game No. 9 - At Rockport - Monday, June 10 5:30 p.m.
Game No. 10 - At Rockport - Wednesday, June 12 5:30 p.m.

Saturday 6/1 @ Rockport: Final score Rotary 13, Lynx 3 (5 innings)

Rotary pitching: Connor O'Farrell, Ethan Cayouette and Hunter Longley combined for 10 strikeouts and no hits over five innings.

Rotary hitting: Connor O'Farrell and Nicholas Johnson with three hits each; Ethan Cayouette, Seth Yates and Hunter Longley with two hits each, and Calvin James, Quinn Brown, and Ben Wells with one hit each.

Lynx pitching: Sam Moody and Mike Kremins combined for seven strikeouts.

Saturday 6/1 @ Rockport: Hope General over Lions score not available

Monday 6/3 @ Hope: Final score Rotary 17, McCormick's 12 (7 innings)
Game featured four lead changes and two ties before Rotary pulled away in extra innings for the win. Spencer Johndro (McCormick's) led all hitters with a home run and two tremendous doubles.

Rotary pitching: Calvin James and Ethan Cayouette combined for the first six innings and Quinn Brown closed the game out in the 7th.

Rotary hitting: Quinn Brown (double, 2 singles), Seth Yates (triple), and Ethan Cayouette, Connor O'Farrell, Luke James, Ben Wells, Hunter Longley, Calvin James, Nicholas Johnson, and Emerson Brott with a single each.

McCormick's pitching: Spencer Johndro and Kerry Sabanty combined for the first five innings and then Jeremy Fraser, Sam Hebert, Nathan Levig, and Jackson Bernier pitched the final two innings.

McCormick's hitting: Spencer Johndro (home run, 2 doubles), Kerry Sabanty (3 singles), Simon Fedarko (2 singles), Sam Hebert (double, single) and Alec O'Dwyer (single)

Monday 6/3 @ Lincolnville: Final score Knoxers 5 - Hope General 3

Highlights included a home run and triple by Knoxers Eben Merrifield, five strong innings pitched by Hope General's Ionuts Lodge, giving up only two runs on hits by Merrifield. Two putouts at the plate by Knoxers, first on a throw home by center fielder Noah Erskine with the tag applied by Sam Conlan and then on a wild pitch with the tag applied by pitcher Austin Charkowick.
