THOMASTON — Joanne Moulton was introduced as Thomaston’s new Town Clerk, Monday, Aug. 12, 2024. Without even sitting down, her official duties began.

Select Board members recognized Moulton’s appointment at 6 p.m. By 6:15 p.m., she was swearing in John Palmer, newly appointed police chief. She read the oath flawlessly.

Moulton had already “hit the ground running” in Thomaston, according to Town Manager Kara George, having already served more than seven years in municipal government. She previously served as Deputy Clerk and Registrar for Searsport, and most recently as Town Clerk for Searsmont.

“We are delighted to have her join our team,” said George. “I look forward to working with you in the coming years.”
